Andrea Jackson is one of the top female athletes produced at Farrell High School.

The Farrell honors graduate was a phenomenal performer in both basketball and volleyball.She was All-WPIAL (District 7) in volleyball in 1976 and ‘77 and in basketball in 1975, ‘77 and ‘78. Andrea was named to the Midwestern Athletic Conference first-team in both sports from 1976-78. Andrea was honored at the Pittsburgh Golden Triangle Dinner.

She went on to an outstanding college career in both volleyball and basketball at the University of Cincinnati and University of Central Florida.In volleyball, she was first team all-conference in 1978 and 1979 at Cincinnati and in 1980 and 1981 at UCF. In basketball she was 2nd team all-conference in 1980 and first team in 1981.

Andrea was a member of the 1980 United States Olympic volleyball team and later served as assistant volleyball coach at Youngstown State University.She coached Junior Olympic Volleyball and was a PIAA volleyball referee.

She passed on her athletic prowess to her son David Jackson, who was a star basketball player at Kennedy Catholic High School and went on to a stellar career at Penn State University, where he played more games than any other Nittany Lion in the history of the program.
