Colleen (Currie) Taylor is one of the top all-around athletes ever produced at Greenville High School.

At Greenville, she earned 11 varsity letters in volleyball, basketball and track from 1982-86.

She was named Mercer County MVP in volleyball her junior and senior years and was First-Team All-Mercer County for three seasons. Her senior year she had a kill rate of 47.5 percent and efficiency of 86.9. Her serving numbers were extraordinary as well.

In basketball, she was named First-Team All-County as well her final two seasons, after being second team as a sophomore.

As a junior she averaged 15.5 points per game and as a senior she tallied 397 points and scored double digits in every game except 2. She also pulled down 237 rebounds, with 30 assists and 34 steals. For her career she totaled 960 points.

In track, Colleen competed in shot put, discus and javelin, qualifying for state in the javelin her senior year. She won Outstanding Field Athlete that season and the Bill Reames Memorial Award. She earned the Thomas J. McInturf Athletic Scholarship as well.

She received a scholarship to Westminster College (NAIA at the time), where she competed in volleyball (1986-1990) and basketball (1986-87).

In volleyball, she was a four-year letter winner and a 3-time All-NAIA District 18 selection, including 1st team her junior year and 2nd team as a senior. She was named to numerous all-tourney teams and was team MVP her junior year. She was co-captain as a senior and led the team in blocking. She led the team in hitting three seasons.

Colleen was inducted into the Westminster College Titan Hall of Fame in 1998.

After graduation she continued to play volleyball in the Ohio Valley Region for USA Volleyball until 2008.

She coached varsity volleyball at Jamestown and

Greenville high schools and was a member of the Mercer County Chapter of Volleyball Officials for almost 30 years, serving as president for 15 years.

She helped organize the fund-raising golf outing for The Pink Angels to help fight cancer.
