Dr. John Scullin was one of the top all-around athletes developed at Greenville High School in the late 1950s.
He was a standout in football, basketball and track for the Trojans from 1958-61. In 1960, he was named All-County First-Team at running back. In 1961, he was named Greenville High "Best Male Athlete."
He went on to Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., where he shined at defensive back as a member of the football squad from 1961-65. He won defensive player of the game honors as a starting defensive back from 1963-64. He also played lacrosse in 1962 for the Big Red.
In 1972, he was starting running back on the U.S. Navy All-Star team vs. a Japan college all-star team in a game at Tokyo Olympic Stadium in 1966-68.
He went on to play rugby for the St. Louis Bombers Rugby Club.
He has served as team physician at his alma mater Greenville high since 1976, a well as serving as team physician for Thiel College. Dr. Scullin was a former team physician/orthopaedic consultant for Slippery Rock University.
He is a member of the Cornell Football Association.
