Bob Morris is a legendary cross country and track and field coach who built West Middlesex into a running powerhouse.

For many years, he was the only coach West Middlesex girls track and boys and girls cross country coach the school athletes ever knew. He started the girls track team in 1986 and later added cross country in 1991 and built both into juggernauts. He took 11 boys and 8 girls teams to the PIAA Cross Country Championships, highlighted by the Big Reds' undefeated 2006 Class AA state championship team and the Ms. Reds' 2008 and 2012 Class A runner-up finishes. The only Mercer County cross country coach to ever win a state title, he was named the 2006 District 10 Coach of the Year. His harriers won 109 invitational titles (61 boys, 48 girls), 26 league championships (15 boys, 11 girls) and 6 D-10 crowns (5 boys, 1 girls). Eight boys and 4 girls squads ended in the state's Top 10, plus 10 girls and 9 boys individuals qualified for the state finals.

The collective dual-meet mark under Bob was 409-91 (191-57 girls, 218-34 boys). The boys put together 80 consecutive dual wins and 66 straight league wins. In track, the girls team recorded 9 invitational and 8 conference crowns, as well as a 213-70 dual-meet mark (4 unbeaten squads).

Among Bob's other firsts at West Middlesex, he initiated the Big Red Cross Country Invitational (24 years running), the Big Red Track and Field Relays (8 years), the Big Red Hoop Classic and WMHS Cross Country Relays (5 years each).More than 50 of his proteges earned collegiate scholar-athlete honors for the former Sharon Herald Teacher of Excellence Award winner.

He also coached the junior high football program and during his 9-year stint as athletic director, the school received its first PIAA Sportsmanship Award. He was inducted into the West Middlesex Athletic Hall of Fame.
