Steve Riley was one of the outstanding wrestling greats out of Greenville High School, who also was a superb 3-sport scholastic performer.

On the mats, he was the first 2-time state champion from Greenville, notching titles in 1974 and '75. He was a 3-time section champion, also winning several section and district championships. He was named high school All-American in the mat sport.He also excelled in football (1971, '72, '73 and '74) and track & field (1972, '73, '74) for the Trojans and received All-State Honorable Mention in football in 1974. He was All-Mercer County on both offense and defense.

He won a state medal in the shot putt as well and was the Greenville school record-holder in the event.He received numerous scholarship offers, including Pitt, Purdue, Ohio State, Kent State, Arizona State, Alabama, West Virginia and more.

He chose to stay close to home and studied at East Stroudsburg College and University of West Virginia before beginning a career as a master builder.

Before leaving the Greenville area for the British Virgin Islands in the late 1990s, he coached baseball from T-Ball through Senior Division. He also umpired in the Girls Softball League.
