Jonathan Hazi was one of the great wrestlers produced through the nationally renowned Reynolds High School program.

At Reynolds from 1990-94, heproduced a phenomenal varsity record of 130-13. His accomplishments were many:

-PIAA Class AA State Champion at 103 pounds in 1993 & ’94,  5th place finisher at state in 1992, ASICS High School All-American 3rdteam, Represented & scored an 11-2 major decision for the Pennsylvania team at the 20th Annual Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Wrestling Classic against the USA competitor, Two-time Cadet Freestyle (4th) & Greco-Roman (5th) All-American at National Championships and Three-time Junior Freestyle All-American (6th,8th and 8th).

He earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh. He was a 3-time University National All-American in Freestyle and Greco-Roman (two 3rds and a 4th).

In 1996 he was the Central Regional Olympic Trials Freestyle runner-up.

Jonathan was named to the Scholar-Athlete All-Academic Team and Pitt Bell Atlantic Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

He is currently serving as the head coach of the Mars (PA) novice program and served for two years as assistant coach at Seneca Valley High School.

At Reynolds, Jonathan wrestled under the direction of Coach Brian Hills, a fellow Mercer County Hall of Famer and a member of the Hall’s board of directors.
