Mark Bennedetto had an All-Star career in both football and basketball at Sharpsville High School and Thiel College, where he was co-captain in both sports at both levels.

At Sharpsville, he was a Prep All-America selection in both sports. In football, he made 1st team All-Northwest Conference at linebacker and honorable mention at split end. He was 1st Team All-Mercer County at linebacker and 2nd team at split end.In basketball, he was 2nd Team Mercer County. His junior year, the team won the District 10 Championship, going 22-4, before losing to Midland in the Western Region semifinals. His senior year, the Blue Devils again won District 10 (22-7) and he was named to the Mercer County All-Star team.

At Thiel College, he played football and basketball all four years. In football he was 1st Team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference at wide receiver and was the 4th best all-time leading receiver in yards per reception (18.5 yards).

He played independent sports, including Buhl Club basketball, Shenango Valley Modified League softball, 9-man flag football and Gus Macker Tournament basketball.

He served as coach/manager with Sharon Little League and Shenango Valley Girls Softball League (age 9-12). He coached 7th grade basketball at Sharon. He is a member of the International Brotherhood of Martial Artists.
