Mary "Muffy" Nesbit White was one of the great female basketball players to come out of the Mercer County area.

She was a four-year varsity starter one year at Grove City High, then three years at Kennedy Christian High School in her scholastic career. A 1987 graduate of Kennedy, she was a 1,000-point scorer and team captain of the KC team that won a District 10 championship. She was named first-team All-County and honorable mention All-State.

She earned a full scholarship to Keene (N.H.) State College where she had a brilliant career for the Division II program. She helped lead the team to ECAC championships in 1988 and 1989, while the team qualified for the NCAA tournament in 1990. At Keene, Muffy established school records including: most 3-pointers in a game (9) and most 3-pointers in a season (98). Those records, as well as career 340 treys, still are intact. A 1,000-point scorer, she once held the national record for most 3-pointers in Division II.

She was inducted into the Keene State Athletic Hall of Fame along with members of the 1990 team.

Muffy coached the Chesterfield (N.H.) Middle School's girls basketball team for 8 years.
