Norm Walker was one of the great state wrestling champions produced at Greenville High School.

At Greenville, he wrestled from 1972-76, concluding a phenomenal mat career his senior year at the top of the podium at the state tourney in the 185 pound class. He was state runner-up at heavyweight in 1974 and 3rd at 185 as a junior.

Norm won section, district and regional crowns in 1975 and '76. In 1975, he was national runner-up in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. Norm finished his mat career at Greenville with a record of 104 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie. He was the first wrestler in Pennsylvania history to win a career 100 matches. At Greenville, he was also a standout in football, being named to the all-conference teams his final two seasons.

He went on to a standout wrestling career at the University of North Carolina, where he as named Freshman Wrestler of the Team and was co-captain in 1980.

Norm went into coaching and started the Ballard Bruin Middle School program, while starting the wrestling club in the school district. He served as president of the Ballard Bruin Football Booster Club as well.He also coached youth football and baseball teams. He served as a steering committee member for the Louisville (Kentucky) Jimmy V Foundation. He is an executive board member of the Standard Country Club.
