Robert Dubrasky was one of the top basketball and baseball standouts developed at West Middlesex High School in the 1950s.
A three-year standout in both sports from 1955-57, his senior year he helped both teams to Mercer County championships.
In baseball, the team won the county Class B title, while Robert batted .500 for the season. In basketball, the Big Reds won the county Class B crown as well.
In 1956, he was named Mercer County A League first-team all-star as he scored 365 points and named to the Section II All-State squad. His senior year he received honorable mention All-State honors as he led Mercer County in scoring with 461 points.
He earned a basketball scholarship to Steubenville where he played one memorable year in 1957-58, when the team was ranked No. 1 in the nation in the NAIA after posting a 28-1 record.
Robert played independent basketball with West Middlesex Merchants, Greenville Moose and R&R Construction. He also played baseball in the North County League and the Pymatuning Baseball League.
While in the Armed Services, he played fast-pitch softball and basketball for Camp Roberts in California and the teams won championships in both sports in 1963.
He got his athletic start in Little League and in 1951 he had a 10-1 pitching record and pitched three regular season no-hitters. He played on the Hickory All-Star team that advanced to the state finals, losing to Natrona Heights for a chance to go to Williamsport for the Little League World Series. He won four games in the state playoffs, two being no-hitters.
