

Susan McQuiston was among the elite all-around athletes produced at Lakeview High School, whose athletic career also spanned college and independent success.
At Lakeview from 1988-91, she earned 4 letters in basketball and track and field as well as three in volleyball.
In the javelin event, she was District 10 champion and a third-place PIAA state finisher in 1991. She was district runner-up in 1990. She was a member of the 1991 District 10 basketball championship squad.
Susan went on to Allegheny College where she was an All-American in the javelin in 1992 and ’93 as well as a national qualifier in 1992, ’93 and ’94. She was inducted into the Allegheny College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.
She moved on to bicycle sports and was a member of the Annapolis Bicycle Racing Team and was Elite Team captain as a Category 1 racer.
She won numerous honors including: 3-time Mid-Atlantic Time Trial champion; Mid-Atlantic 35-plus Best All-Around Racer and champion twice, 2nd once; age 40-44 criterium 4th place in 2016 USA Cycling Master’s Road National Championships and Mid-Atlantic criterium champion; 2017 MABRA women’s age 35-44 champ; 2018 criterium 5th age 45-49 at USA Master’s Nationals; and numerous other accomplishments.
She competed in 275 races from 2010-20, most at a local level but several in fields with professional racers in PA and other states.
She coached junior varsity and varsity girls basketball and was a middle school softball coach.
