Tim Reardon was a superb Sharon High athlete and a member of the undefeated 1966 Tigers football team, rated by some as the best team in Mercer County history.
He also lettered in track at Sharon. He went on to play football and letter in 1969-70 at Edinboro State College. He later served as a player and coach for the Shenango Valley Blasters semi-pro football team.
While an outstanding athlete, he made an even bigger mark as a coach. He began that phase of his life in 1974-75 as football defensive coordinator and head baseball coach at Kennedy Christian High School. He moved on to Maple Heights High School near Cleveland, where he served as defensive coordinator for 6 years and head coach for 4. His team won the Greater Cleveland Conference Championship and he also coached in the Cuyahoga County East-West All-Star Game. He served a head softball coach also at Maple Heights.
Tim went on to coach at John Carroll University, working with defensive line and linebackers and serving as sidelines defensive coordinator. He coached many top players or future coaches, including: London Fletcher, NFL linebacker for 15 seasons; NFL coaches Greg Roman and Josh McDaniels; David Caldwell, Jacksonville Jaguars GM; college coaches Jesse Ackerman, Frank Piraino, Ron Dolciato and many other college assistant coaches. He coached 10 Division 3 All-Americans and 18 First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference players.
He was part of 21 winning seasons at JCU, 2 OAC championships and 2 times in the national playoffs.
