Mercer County Hall of Fame 79th Induction Ceremony is Saturday, January 17th, 2026 at the Avalon at Buhl, Hermitage, PA
The Thomas W. Burns Academic All-Star Awards are presented annually by the Hall of Fame. Since its inception in 1984, hundreds of students have received awards worth more than $130,000.
They are awarded to the senior male and senior female athlete in each school district in Mercer County and Kennedy Catholic High School with the highest academic standing. Each of the students, 26 in all, have received a $150 cash award, usually at his or her Recognition Day ceremony.
The late Mr. Burns, who lived in Sharon, was a Hall president and a popular sports announcer.

The Si Lyman Award, named in honor of the late Si Lyman, a veteran area sports editor and a past inductee of the Mercer County Hall of Fame, is given annually by the Hall of Fame's board of directors. It is awarded to the school district with the highest combined winning percentage for all sports. Click on the button below to see the list of past winners.
